Tile author has studied the effect of vinblastine sulfate on the development of chick enlbryo, which is recently drawing attention in the aspect of itc relation to the growth inhibition and malformations.
On the sixth day of incubation, 3. 125x 10 and 6.250 x 10-4r,lg of vinblastine sulfate were in injected into the chorioallantoic sac of each egg of two groups, and the egg was broken for weighing the body weight and five organs such as brain, heart , lung, liver and kidney, every other day from the twelfth day to cci,hteend1 day of incubation.
In an attempt to analyze the growth of body weight and five organs, growth formulae of Huxley were applied.
The following results were obtained;
1. Vinblastine sulfate slowed, an inhibiting effect on the growth of the chick embryo. The effect was much stronger in the 6.25D x 10 4n, injected group than 3. 125 X 10-4n1g illiectcd group.
2. Gnwth rate was increased with tie in the lung of control group, and the bodv weight, lung and kidney of 3. 125x 10 4nlg injected group, and the body weight, brain and lung of 6. 250 x 10-4rmg injected group.
On the other hand, the body weight, brain, liver and kidney of control grog; p, the brain, heart and liver of 3.125X 10-4m,injected grou ), and the liver of 6.25O X 10 group were decreased.
However, no charge was noticed in the heart of 6. 250 x 10-4 rag injectd group.
3. The specific growth rate of ail organs of all groups S-lowed tendency´ of decrease except the case of increase in the lung and kidney of 6. 250 X 10-4:7n7injected group.
4.The cuefficent of relativc growth ingradient various organs to body weight in all to group show negative aliometry except brain, and heart o all three groups and kidney of 3.1257 x if-4m, injected group.
5. According to the growth gradient in the control group, the growth S of brain liver and lung were on the 18th day, heart on between twelfth day and fourteenth day, and kidney on the 12th day of the development. In the 3.325x10-4 mg injected group, there were on the 12th day, brain ,heart and liver, lung and kidney on the eighteenth day of development twelfth dCT, brain O:1 the sixteenth day, kidney between oil sixteenth and eighteenth day, and lung on tae eighteenth day of development.
In the 6.250x10-4 mg injected group, the growth centers of heart and liver were on the twelfth day, brain on sixteenth day, kidney between on the sixteenth day, and lung on the eighteen day of development.
